This is a giant 4 by 6 foot acrylic on masonite piece. It took me 4 days to do it, but I want to come back to it at a later date and refine it.
Source: Photo of an eating contest, from a 1975 National Geographic article on Baltimore, Maryland. I often use old National Geographic pictures as source material because the photos often have a certain contrast and tactility that lends itself well to painting.
I am overall pleased with this piece- it's pretty much life sized and everyone seems to love it. ^^
Thats really something. Hotdogs, I can only eat 3 before I get sick. Its probably the fact that its so processed. I really like the style you did it, I also like the guy with the sign on his chest. What the heck's name?
Thanks, you mean Hogjaws? Yeah, he's one of my favourite people in the scene as well. I also like Mortimer, the guy with the bullhorn (my friend named him.) It looks like he's annoying the heck out of the guy in the suit. ^^
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
